Wedding Films
At The 5:16 Studio, we think “Style” is overrated.
That doesn’t mean that our videos don’t have a distinct flavor based on our tastes.
It means we never make decisions about your video to fit “our style.”
Instead, each video is made to capture the most striking characteristics of the couple and of their special day.
Your wedding day, rain or shine, chaos or calm, is an expression of you that’s worth capturing.
Our mission is to show you back your special day through our eyes.
When I filmed John and Rachel's wedding, I was immediately struck by this: Their story is incredible. These two were incredibly sure of their love for one another. As the tail end of an actual hurricane swept through on their wedding day, their calm love stood strong and proud, not just for each other, but for their family as well. A barn, a gazebo, a field, a golden sunset, and country music all defined the character of this wedding without needing my help. Their video emphasizes the powerful origin of their relationship, the deep relationships they share with each other, their best friends, their family, and the joy they all shared together on this incredible day.

When it comes to character, Matt and Leah made it easy to capture their special day on camera. With no pressure to do anything but enjoy the day with each other and their family, Matt and Leah's playfulness naturally took the spotlight and set the mood for everyone else too. Even the pouring rain couldn't stop this crowd! For their video, I first focused on the contributions of their family. Then I replicated the perspective of a guest participating in the festivities. But my favorite part is the last section, which focuses not on how a guest experienced their day, but how Matt and Leah themselves did. It still makes me smile every time I watch it!

James and Kayla's wedding day was one of the most fun days of my career. They had a thoroughly touching ceremony and an emotional reception, but that didn't stop them from having a blast with their friends and family too. Their video portrays the duality of serious emotion and fun moments by using dynamic music changes, a bold, evolving color palette, and lenses with nostalgic, vintage character. The cinematography was meant to feel natural, with a relatable human perspective—as if you and I are experiencing their special day right next to them.
